The past months have been extremely challenging due to COVID-19 and all the stress and uncertainty surrounding it. LMH is doing its best to provide support for military families feeling the pandemic's effects. Take a look at our flexible housing options and COVID-19 maintenance procedures, along with simple budgeting tips to help you save money during these challenging times.
Flexible Military Housing Options
With the help of three other Public-Private Venture (PPV) Partners and the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN), LMH is dedicated to providing support for military families who are between homes due to COVID-19 closures, cancellations, and delays. Housing options have been updated accordingly to help as many families as possible find their new home. Take a look at our leasing and housing policies below.
One of the most impactful policies LMH has put into place is flexibility with housing leases. While we have always allowed short-term leases for qualifying military families, we have now expanded the flexibility.
LMH understands that these are tough times, so the need to move and end lease agreements may also arise. If you find yourself needing to pack up and move, there's no need to worry. We are here to support our military families and have adjusted our policies to allow more flexibility with lease termination.
Packing up your belongings and moving can be a stressful process, which is why we want to give you the extra time you need to plan your next steps and feel completely comfortable leaving your current home. If you or your family member have received notice of delayed or suspended Permanent Change of Station orders, rest easy because LMH has adjusted move-out dates for our residents.
Finding a New Home
While our families and employees' health is paramount, LMH has decided to host in-person house tours (with the proper safety precautions being enforced). We understand that choosing a home is a significant financial decision, which is why we feel that allowing in-person tours is so important when exploring your housing options.
In addition to in-person tours, we are also providing virtual tours to make your search through housing options easy and convenient.
COVID-19 Maintenance Procedures
Starting on June 15, Lincoln Military Housing resumed routine maintenance requests. As you welcome us back into your home, we want to reassure you that our team is taking every precaution necessary to keep you and our service members safe. To give you peace of mind, look at the various safety guidelines we are enforcing for our routine maintenance procedures.
- Our health screening, safety procedures, and personal protective equipment follow CDC, WHO, and OSHA guidelines.
- All of our team members have completed a health screening before returning to work.
- Our team members will continue to ask families several health screening questions before entering the home. We encourage you to ask these same questions to our team members if you have any concerns.
- We have asked our vendors and team members not to come to our communities if they are ill or exhibit illness symptoms.
As we begin our maintenance procedures with our residents and service members in mind, the following requests will be returned to regular response times.
- Inoperable oven/stove
- Inoperable microwave
- Inoperable garbage disposal
- Toilet or tub/shower clogged
- LMH-owned washer and/or dryer not working
- Dishwasher not draining (standing water inside)
